A major character in Dead Space: Martyr, he worked with Craig Markoff during the events of the book. He is described as being as tall as Markoff, but thicker, with a brutal, flat face. A veteran of the moon skirmishes, he was a violent man and likely committed many atrocities during these wars. He often turns to violence instead of negotiating, as shown in multiple cases, one of these being when a group of scientists were gathered around the Marker. He doesn't hesitate to shoot one in the leg to force the scientists to leave the chamber. He also killed the German doctor named Grote Guthe who was the first infected individual thus hastening the convergence. He doesn't seem to have much compassion for human life, as he took much pleasure in torturing Michael Altman and even killed his girlfriend, Ada Cortez. He is killed by Markoff or one of his men after Krax killed Ada, and his body was transformed into the Brute seen at the end of the book.
- Krax was part of the Necromorph (most likely a Brute) that kills Altman in the end of Dead Space: Martyr. The creature was named, quite fittingly, "The Krax."
- The beginning of Martyr (text in italics before Chapter One) is most likely a sequel to the Epilogue, as it talks about a fight in a circular area. The creature is told to be charging at him and his only weapon is a makeshift knife, which is most likely the spoon he sharpened given to him by Markoff and Steven before they left him to fight the creature.
