In this log, Hans Tiedemann claims to have 200 soldiers inside the Government Sector, however, Isaac Clarke only finds a riot barrier with less than ten. After the Necromorphs break inside the compound, no further human NPCs are found, suggesting that either Tiedemann was bluffing or the Necromorphs quickly slaughtered them all.

Another possible explanation, suggested by the log Evacuation Snafu, is that Tiedemann ordered an evacuation of all the remaining personnel and most of them managed to get out. This would also explain why he faces Isaac all by himself inside the Marker chamber.

Trivia

• Tiedemann's line "I don't know what Providence protects you, Clarke" obviously is a forth wall joke refering to the player. It also humorously refers to the fact that Isaac survived multiple lethal situations through the game other than just facing the Necromorphs:
  • Being attacked by two Titan Security agents and later by Foster Edgars while restrained by a straightjacked during Chapter 1.
  • A train crash at the end of Chapter 2.
  • Being abducted by Daina Le Guin at the end of Chapter 5, followed by the near explosion of an EarthGov Gunship while in outer space.
  • Dodging large debris during a head down dive after being ejected by the Rocket Chair, at the end of Chapter 7.
  • The crash of a malfunctioning Escape Pod at the end of Chapter 10.
  • The crash of a large subterrene drill at the end of Chapter 12.
